Healing The Blind, Deaf And Dumb (Mute)

Healing The Blind, Deaf And Dumb (Mute)

     There is a fantastic move of healing that the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ is on the horizon of, both on an individual and collective basis. Many are soon to step into this river of healing that is soon to be released through the Body of Christ, causing multitudes to repent of their sins and believe in Jesus Christ. The enemy is fighting this war against this revelation even before this war begins. Yet to engage in healing the child of God must be equipped, built up in healing faith, truth and the Word of God. Preparation for the battlefield of healing begins now!
     In the past healing has largely eluded the Church. It has escaped as we tried to capture it. It will not elude us any longer, for the Church of the Living God will learn why God releases healing, and we will then strive to meet those requirements.
     As we endeavor to not only study healing as theological, but as a point of practice, it is important to note that healing has various specialties. Healing has great variety, just as there is a variety of sicknesses, diseases, infirmities and ailments. The natural world has doctors who specialize in various fields of sicknesses, and so does the spiritual realm in which God has called you to function in. A person may be called to open the eyes of the blind, and/or cause the deaf to hear or the mute (dumb) to speak. Yet because someone is called to heal does not mean that they will heal every disease and sickness.

Who Created The Blind, Deaf And Dumb?
     Exodus 4:11 tells us who created the blind, deaf and dumb, it reads;
 “And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?”
Why would God create brokenness? He is the Master Potter and Designer, how could He make this error? He did not create error. Although God created the blind, deaf and the dumb, He did not cause them to be that way. In God’s omniscience He knows when someone will either be born in one of these conditions or when it will happen in someone’s life, yet it is not His doing. Sin caused and still causes these conditions. I want to establish this point in your mind, and that is sickness is of the devil, which was introduced to mankind through the avenue of sin. Yet where sin and its results abounded or dominated, Christ grace, power, mercy, healing much more abounded. Romans 5:20 says;
 “Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:”
Yes, Satan does sickness good, but God does healing better.

Let’s Define.
Blind - Webster’s New World Dictionary and Thesaurus defines “blind” as without the power of sight. The Greek word for “blind” is “typhlos” (pronounced tu-flo’s), meaning blind and mentally blind.
Deaf - Webster’s New World Dictionary and Thesaurus defines “deaf” as unable to hear. The Greek word for “deaf” is “kophos” (pronounced ko-fos), meaning blunted dull, blunted (or lamed) in tongue, dull in hearing, deaf.
Dumb - Webster’s New World Dictionary and Thesaurus defines “dumb” as lacking the power of speech, mute, silent. The Greek word for dumb is the same as for deaf for they are often spoken together. Many who are deaf are often dumb and muted, yet not always.

Not Greater Than God!
     In the preparation of this lesson the Lord told me that He is the Great Physician and there is no surgery that He cannot do. God is the chief surgeon and we are on His medical staff. We are called to do spiritual surgery on the blind, deaf and dumb. Spiritual surgery is not something surface; rather a deep work. Healing the eyes of the blind, the ears of the deaf, and the tongue of the dumb is a deep spiritual work. That is to say, you must venture past the basic teachings, and endeavor to step into areas in God that are not readily gone into by most, in order to access these surgical instruments in whose substance is spiritual. Blindness, deafness, and dumbness were caused by a spiritual act of unbelief and disobedience in the Garden of Eden. This is why true healing must be a spiritual act of faith. Your faith releases spiritual surgery on the eye, ear and mouth of people.
     We must stop exalting the magnitude of the broken physical conditions of people. Your Father, Your God is Great. It is time right now to change what and who you magnify. From this point in your life until you draw your last breath I want you to determine that when you look upon the condition of the blind, deaf and the dumb, that you begin to magnify God and know in your heart that He can do it. Their healing is not beyond His ability. And He wants them healed. Yes, God wants to heal them through you.
     The conditions of the blind, deaf and dumb is not greater than God’s sight, hearing and declarative speech. When two things meet the lesser has to give way. When blindness meets with God’s healing of sight, then blindness has to give way. The question is ‘do you, or will you believe without wavering?’ God, your God is greater than blindness, deafness and dumbness. When you declare this in the face of these conditions, then these conditions must give way.

What Is Your Reality?
     One of the biggest issues with Christians and healing, is that they don’t often believe what they say they believe. Why is this? Why won’t we believe that healing is so when God says so? Let’s examine Mark 7:32-35 in which I believe we will gain greater insight into healing, it reads;
 “And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.
 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;
 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.
 And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.”
A deaf man who also had a speech impediment was brought to Jesus for Him to lay His hand upon him for healing. It is important that you realize that Jesus did not attempt to heal this man amongst the multitude; rather He pulled him aside to do it. Jesus sighed (groaned with grief) not because of the deaf man; rather because the people came to see “if” He would be able to heal him, rather than expecting him to be healed. It grieves the heart of God when our reality is not His omnipotence; rather the weakness, frailties, limitations and past failures of man. To heal the blind, deaf and dumb your reality must be that nothing is impossible with God. You must release the natural reality to receive the spiritual reality. This natural world must become transparent in your sight. You must begin to see right through and past its limits, and gaze upon our Heavenly Father in whom nothing is impossible. Your Father must become your greatest reality. Nothing must be more real to you than Him and the truth of His Word.
     To heal the blind, deaf and dumb you must begin to change your thoughts and words that you allow to be in your spiritual vocabulary regarding God’s promises. You must remove words like, “what if”, “but”, “maybe”, “possibly”, “I hope”, etc…, and engraft words like, “it will”, “it must”, “it shall be”, etc… To walk in and dispense healing you must change your mind. In actuality you must renew it with the Word of God according to Romans 12:2, which says;
 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
You must put in some blind healing, deaf healing, and dumb healing vocabulary from the Word of God. No longer can you think “I hope healing will happen” or “healing might happen”; rather your first thoughts must be “healing will happen because God says so.” You must no longer debate or fight with the Word of God; rather you must surrender to the Word. When you say “Lord God I surrender all to you”, it must include your will, thoughts that are not in line with God’s Word, etc… Don’t fight with God’s Word in your mind, just believe. Don’t put your eyes on the manifestation of healing; rather on the promise of healing. Faith in God’s promises births the manifestation.

Close To The Source Of Healing.
     So many want someone to touch them and declare that they are now a healer. Sorry, it does not work that way. Someone may touch you to Anoint you to heal as God directs, but that usually follows your personal preparation and periods of consecration unto the Lord. To cause healing to flow to the blind, deaf and dumb you must stay close to the source of healing, God. Distance from God (lack of prayer and reading the Word of God) causes fear, because distance produces a lack of spiritual sight. When you are away from, or distant from God, it causes you to no longer see clearly His greatness, His healing virtues, instead you begin to magnify what you see, the circumstance of blindness, deafness and dumbness, etc…
     I want you to realize that in Heaven there is no lack of Anointing to heal the blind, deaf and dumb. Yet to receive it in your mind and spirit you must be close to God. It is in this closeness or nearness to God that we behold His omnipotence, causing us to realize that there is nothing, including sickness of any variety that is greater than He is. In His presence you will constantly receive the faith necessary to see that He is greater than the blind eye, the deaf ear and the speechless tongue. He is God; The sovereign God. The demonic authority that causes the blind eye, deaf ear, and muted tongue is not greater than God’s authority.

Death Releases Faith
     The world and its things are more real to many Christians than God is to them. We must die to bring spiritual reality to the forefront. At death the natural world no longer is our greatest reality; rather the spiritual realm is. Again, at death this ceases to be, both death to self (and its desires), as well as physical death. Death causes us to no longer focus on self as the center of everything. It is here that the reality of God comes into focus. You must die to yourself.

It’s About The Report
     Why do so many struggle to believe the report of blind eyes being opened, deaf ears hearing, and dumb tongues speaking? Often people put their faith in the report that they hear the most. Most people believe the report of blindness, deafness, and dumbness because they hear that report more than reports of blind eyes being opened, deaf ears hearing, and muted tongues speaking. You must change your news or reporting station. There is no victory in hearing and hearing of the enemies triumphs in the area of sickness. You must shut that area down and begin to put in your spirit biblical victories, over and over again, causing your faith to be released in its report. It is the report that you believe, that will manifest. Isaiah 53:1 says;
 “Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?”
 It is in your faith regarding God’s report that releases the arm or power of God to reveal to you or manifest in your life what you have believed.
     Healing is never a problem with God; rather the problem is with man. God knows that He is a healer. You must believe healing into manifestation. Don’t accept any other report other than God heals the blind eyes, deaf ears, and dumb tongue. Believe it into manifestation.
     You don’t have to do it or carry it. The burden to heal is God’s and not yours. He heals, He delivers, yet you are His earthen vessel that He speaks through and whose faith He uses to birth healing. When you believe the Word of God on healing that is in the will of God it causes the Holy Spirit to flow into situations where healing is needed.

To Bring God Glory
     When blind eyes are opened, deaf ears hear, and dumb tongues speak it brings glory to God. Multitudes, including unbelievers and those in false religions begin to glorify the one true Living God when these healings are manifested. Matthew 15:31 says;
 “Insomuch that the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel.”
Because of this I encourage you to seek and pursue to heal the sick, so that my Father and your Father, my God and your God will be glorified.

Ask And God Will
     Can you hear in the spirit realm God telling you that He will. Ask Him about healing the blind, the deaf, the dumb and then listen. Look upon the blind, deaf, and the dumb and begin to hear the voice of the Living God say, “I will.” The heart of the blind, deaf, and dumb desires to be healed, yet they may not hear God’s spiritual voice saying I will. Do you hear Him? You must hear and declare the voice of the Lord for them saying, “I will.” God is willing, are you willing to believe this?
     Some are paralyzed by pondering if God has called them to healing, and if He has, what area has He called them to. It is in this confusion of call that doubt and fear enters. You need to know what area of healing you are called to. To find out is very simple, you seek the Lord. Ask Him what has He called you to do regarding healing, and if not healing, then what has He called you to do? Before you ask God this question, first repent of all your sins so that the way will be made for God to hear your request, and for you to get an answer. Sin hinders God from hearing you, thus you getting an answer (Isaiah 59:1-2).

Act As If It’s Done.
     When praying for the blind, deaf and dumb to be healed you must act as you have believed. Your actions speak of your faith. Not only should you act as if healing is done, but you must encourage those you are ministering to, to act as if it is done. If they were blind tell them to open their eyes and tell you what they see. If they were deaf, then ask them what they now hear. If they are mute, tell them to speak. If the manifestation has not happened yet, then their action could manifest the healing.
     As you read this you must make a stand and establish your faith to heal the blind, deaf and dumb (mute), right now. Faith is right now. Right now they will be healed, must be you unwavering thought.

How Did Jesus Heal The Blind, Deaf And Dumb?
     So many want to heal the blind, deaf and dumb like Jesus did, yet they don’t fully understand the dynamics of His work in this area. Was the power that Jesus had in His methods, or were His methods an act of obedient faith that released God’s power? Methodology has no power unless it is in direct obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit. The substance or power to heal the blind, deaf and dumb is not in how you do it; rather if you are connected to the one who releases His Anointing and power through you. So how did Jesus heal the blind, deaf and dumb? Through righteousness and faith. In righteousness He had access to the Healing Anointing. In faith the power of God was released. Righteousness gets you into Heavenly places, affording you access to God’s Anointing. Through faith that Anointing is released. There is no blind eye that faith from a righteous believer cannot open. There is no deaf ear that faith from a righteous believer cannot cause to hear. There is no dumb tongue that faith from a righteous believer cannot cause to be loosed to speak.

Natural Sickness Or Spirit?
     There are times wherein someone may be blind, deaf and dumb and the issue may not be natural; rather rooted in a spirit. With the blind, deaf, and dumb this is often the situation, so do not overlook this area of healing through deliverance. Mark 9:25-27 gives us this example, it reads;
 “When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.
 And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.
 But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.”
There are other instances in which these same maladies may be a natural occurrence. Mark 7:32-35 says;
 “And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.
 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;
 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.
 And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.”
Whether it be demonic or natural, in each case it must be discerned. To discern effectively you must seek the Lord. Yet the Lord may tell you in advance through a Word of Wisdom, a Word of Knowledge, or Discerning of Spirits what the issue is.   After you are aware of what the root of the sickness is you then must address it. If it is a spirit, then you must take authority over it and command it to leave in Jesus name. If it is a natural issue, then you speak to that body part and tell it what you want it to do in Jesus name. You can say to the blind, “see”, to the deaf, “be opened and hear”, to the dumb, “speak in Jesus name”, etc….

Proof In The Act.
     You can lay your hands on the eyes of the blind, ears of the deaf, or mouth of the dumb, and pray for them. After you have done this, get them to step out on faith. For the blind, ask them to open their eyes and tell you what they see. For the deaf, you must begin to speak to them as if they have perfect hearing, and ask them to repeat what you have said. For the dumb or mute, you must tell them to say Jesus, or to praise God. It is befitting that the first words from their tongue be the name of Jesus and praise to God.
     You must know that you know, that you know, that they will see, hear and speak. Do not debate the if’s, buts, and whys that the enemy brings to your mind, just know that it is done. Don’t look with your eyes; rather let faiths eyes behold God’s promises. You must cast down the enemies imaginations of sickness. He wants to steal your confidence. The enemy does not want you to be an instrument of healing, so he does all that he can to make you not have confidence in the fact that God would use you as an instrument of healing. Cast down the enemies thoughts and imaginations, which are contrary to what God wants. The enemy will try and use crisis in your life to cause you to imagine the wrong things. Your faith must overcome the enemy’s crisis, by keeping your eyes on the Word of God and its promises.
    In closing it is important that you have a personal faith that God will heal the blind, deaf and dumb. You must believe that God wants to heal them. Yet to do this you must strengthen your faith. This comes by getting an abundance of scriptures on healing the blind, deaf and dumb and meditating on them. You must also stir the faith of the blind, deaf or dumb. Speak to the blind, and dumb the scriptures and let the deaf read it. All of this will be of no use unless you go to them. It’s time. Why are we standing here gazing at these conditions as if they cannot be conquered? They are our enemies and they must bow to the name of Jesus. Go and take authority over them. Eyes are waiting to see, ears are waiting to hear, and mouths that have never spoken are waiting to speak the name of Jesus. Go and set the captives free.

Below is a list of Scriptures that will build up your faith for healing the blind, deaf and dumb:

Blind
Matthew 9:27-30
 “And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou son of David, have mercy on us.
 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.
 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.”

Matthew 12:22
 “Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.”

Matthew 20:30-34
 “And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.
 And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou son of David.
 And Jesus stood still, and called them, and said, What will ye that I shall do unto you?
 They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.
 So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.”

Matthew 21:14
 “And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.”

Mark 8:22-25
 “And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.
 And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.
 And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.
 After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.”

Mark 10:46-52
 “And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.
 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.
 And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.
 And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.
 And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.
 And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.
 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.”

Luke 4:18
 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,”

Luke 7:21
 “And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.”

Luke 18:35-43
 “And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:
 And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant.
 And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by.
 And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.
 And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.
 And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him,
 Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight.
 And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.
 And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.”

John 9:1-7
 “And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.”

Deaf
Matthew 11:5
 “The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.”

Mark 7:32-35
 “And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.
 And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;
 And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.
 And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.”

Luke 7:22
 “Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.”

Dumb
Matthew 9:32-33
 “As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.
 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.”

Mark 9:17-25
 “And one of the multitude answered and said, Master, I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit;
 And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.
 He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me.
 And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.
 And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child.
 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do anything, have compassion on us, and help us.
 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.”

Luke 11:14
 “And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake; and the people wondered.”
